The Opportunity

The heart of insitro’s strategy is the development of novel, cutting edge methods in machine learning and high-throughput biology that address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline. To accomplish that, we are putting together a team of life scientists with cutting-edge cellular and technological expertise. 

As an Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for the operation and execution of workflows on our automation platforms. You will be working on many aspects of iPSC technology such as iPSC automation, cell line maintenance, and differentiation. This role will primarily focus on supporting the day-to-day activities for the set up, operation, and maintenance of our automated cell line management systems. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with a highly talented multidisciplinary team as you develop cutting-edge activities in a state-of-the-art environment with the aim to accelerate machine learning based drug discoveries.

This role requires someone who is collaborative, organized, technically proficient, can multi-task, enjoys being part of a team, and thrives solving issues in a timely manner. Weekend work will be required.

Your primary duties will be to: 

  • Operate complex and integrated robotic systems to manage iPSC production through an automated workflow
  • Identify and report any workflow and production issues.
  • Perform various lab procedures according to insitro’s operating protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain operational records through various LIMS platforms
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to continuously improve new or existing processes

About You 

  • Experience working with automation equipment (Hamilton liquid handlers, cell imagers…)
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excited about process development and optimization
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and operating at high standards of lab safety.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software or custom UIs
  • Comfortable working in collaborative and dynamic teams
  • Passion for making a difference in the world 
  • Comfortable working weekends

Compensation & Benefits at insitro

Our target starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data.
