Job Description

What will you do? 

As a Healthcare Terminology Specialist, you will use your technical expertise to ensure that clinically contextualised medical terminology is used in healthcare databases to power health records, clinical decision support tools and health information systems. You will work, technology and product colleagues to justify and align on the clinical and lifestyle terminologies used across the product spectrum and enable effective use of clinical data for reporting purposes. You will advise on appropriate medical terminologies to be used for .

This role reports to our Head of Medical and is based in Singapore. 

Your key responsibilities include: 

• Work with other medical data specialists in expanding and refining in-house common data model according to EVYD product timelines and business needs.
• Refine structures for medical data for EVYD’s common data model, through incorporation of international standards for interoperability and medical terminologies.
• Provide medical inputs to assist data and verification of NLP output. 
• Create and maintain mapping tables of medical data and codesets so they are up to date according to existing terminology standards. 
• Provide support to business operations and data management teams where required for client engagement, tools configuration, etc.
• Work with internal stakeholder to support effective use of clinical data for various business needs.
• Provide technical expertise to support external engagements and projects by ensuring the correct usage of terminology.
• Ensure that terminology use within EVYD is compliant with international and local regulations and standards and provide the necessary training.
• Research, experiment, implement and document class-leading terminology standards to be adopted into the system.

Travel requirements 

Some travel may be required to interact with overseas stakeholders.

Base technical skills 

• Knowledge and experience of medical terminologies and interoperability standards.(Scripting skills and experience in use of terminology servers is an advantage.)  
• Work experience in a clinical setting is an advantage.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in medicine sciences, biomedical sciences, clinical informatics, data analytics or other healthcare related fields.   
• Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills.
