We run over 800 live and on demand experiences each year in over 60 countries, create digital platforms based on engaging news and information content, and operate professional development programs for individuals and businesses in Global Finance, Life Sciences, and Pharma and in multiple other specialist markets.

The Research & Insight team sit within Informa Connect’s Divisional Support. Our aim is to empower the business with actionable insight underpinned by data, to inform strategy and drive revenue generation. We support all Connect industry verticals, including: Global Finance, Life Sciences & Pharma, Real Estate, Sustainability, HR, Energy, Food & Restaurant, Construction, Marketing & Innovation. We also work across Connects global markets & core customer groups in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Dubai & Australia.

Job Description

  • Create & maintain PowerBI dashboards covering product, marketing & financial data
  • Independently conduct analysis & provide insights & recommendations, taking requests & proactively seeking out projects
  • Analyse data from many source systems (audience databases, registration systems, marketing automation tools, Salesforce, virtual event platforms etc.)
  • Share clear, concise insights & recommendations from technical analysis to a non-technical audience
  • Set up live data feeds & automate manual processes for analysis & dashboards
  • ETL of data from data lakes, warehouses & specific source systems
  • Figure out the purposes of schemas, tables, how they join & how they can provide data to non-technical users
  • Validate data & conduct QA analysis
  • Use exploratory data & statistical analyses & models to identify potential correlations & outliers
  • Interpret & apply organisation’s data management & information security requirements
  • Train colleagues & champion data best practices across the company
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices & emerging technologies for data practitioners
  • Prioritise projects & complete them in an efficient & responsible manner
  • Working as part of a larger data team, delegating tasks & supporting others

Qualifications

Essential

  • Extensive experience with dashboarding & data visualisation software (preferably PowerBI). Particularly loading data, transforming it & visualising for reports & dashboards.
  • Extensive experience providing detailed analysis & reporting
  • Experience of building & maintaining data models & using them to generate insights
  • Experience of QA testing & data validation
  • Experience of ETL/ELT & SQL
  • Experience working on big data across multiple, disparate data sources
  • Solid understanding of enterprise data warehousing principles, data management concepts & ETL solutions
  • Solid understanding of data processes, management & the use of reference data & taxonomies in large businesses
  • Solid understanding of data compliance law, GDPR & its implications for first-party marketing data
  • Quick learner when it comes to domain context & understanding stakeholder needs
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation & time management skills
  • Autonomous worker & problem-solver

Ideal

  • Experience of AB & multivariate testing
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts & experience applying statistical techniques (regression, hypothesis testing, etc.) to real-world problems
  • Microsoft languages (DAX, Power Query M)
  • Microsoft automation & productivity tools (Power Query, Power Automate, Fabric, Planner)
  • Python (or similar) for analysis & data process automation
