About the Role

  • This role offers an exciting opportunity to join Seerist, a growing company that is creating the most exciting technology and tools for predictive security analysis on the market. This role will be part of a rapidly growing intelligence team focused on building and maintaining market-leading sources and analytical products in Seerist.
  • This role will support Seerist’s research and collection strategy. In this role, you will research, compile, and implement new sources for Seerist’s platform with a focus on political, security, and operational risk issues. This role will also contribute to developing and maintaining intelligence products for Seerist clients.

Role and responsibilities

  • Identify, obtain, and maintain access to online media sources relevant to Seerist’s customer base, at the direction of the Director of Research. This will include working with the data acquisition and data science teams to incorporate new sources and search strings into the Seerist product
  • Contribute research into new sources and acquisition strategies by collecting and analyzing data from sources including social media, news media, dark web, and forum content
  • Work with the Director of Research and Global Head of Intelligence to support new content and product development as Seerist expands into new threat and risk categories
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of perceptions, trends, and public opinions of existing open sources
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining analytical products
  • Collaborate with other colleagues in Seerist to ensure collections strategy is aligned with analytical requirements and user needs

Requirements

  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of geopolitical issues, with ability to connect these issues to source collection
  • Proven research skills in a context relevant to political, security, or operational risk issues
  • Strong sense of curiosity. Willing to learn and receive feedback
  • Flexibility – we’re a small company that moves and reacts quickly to the needs of our users
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in open-source intelligence research (OSINT)
  • Subject matter expertise in a particular region or security risk issue
  • Proficiency in either Russian, Mandarin or Arabic
