Job Description

As AI adoption increases, the challenge in the next decade is to harness AI safety with the appropriate levels of governance and assurance to build trust in these advanced algorithmic systems. Most enterprises do not have the capability to do this, and we are looking to launch a new AI assurance venture to enable companies to validate AI systems for accuracy, robustness, explainability, fairness, privacy and security.

We are looking for a People Ops Manager who can work with the management team to set up a new strategic venture comprising a team of 5 to 30 in the next two years. This person will need to have experience working in a Professional Services environment to build high-performance, mission-driven teams. We are looking for someone who is seasoned and emotionally intelligent, and one who is excited about the challenge of building People Ops in a zero-to-one environment. We are looking for a person who will be able to set an exceedingly high bar for what great People Ops and company culture looks like.

YOU WILL

• Develop sound and sensible HR procedures, practices and employee handbooks that are compatible with the phase of the company, corporate strategy, philosophy, and local legislation, as well as compliance with local legislation
• Take charge of the full spectrum of HR Ops, including directing and coordinating HR activities such as compensation & benefits, performance review, employee engagement and relations, employee services and other HR-related matters
• Harness modern HR tools to drive automation and efficiencies, improve employee experience and enable good practices (eg. peer reviews, pulse surveys)
• Set up and maintain competitive compensation plan and benefits program, identify business hiring needs, build talent pipelines and manage recruitment process from end to end
• Help the management team build and sustain culture and change-related initiatives
• Work together with management to coach, solve conflicts and facilitate a positive working environment
• Play a key role in culture building/ assimilation as well as employee engagement.

YOU ARE ABLE TO

• Be empathetic and offer advice/alternatives, as opposed to just providing answers
• Sound organisational ability, and ability to stay on top of things in an evolving environment
• Exercise discretion and authenticity in equal measure
• Familiarity with BambooHR is a plus, but not essential
• Good broad understanding of core HR disciplines, including performance management, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion etc.
• Communicate HR policy intent in writing clearly, with knowledge of when exceptions should be applicable
• Work independently and be accountable for outcomes
