Job Description

We are looking to appoint two roles: one in the School of Molecular & Cellular Biology (Faculty of Biological Sciences) and one in the School of Medicine (Faculty of Medicine & Health).

Do you have a background in data analytics (statistical or computational) as applied to human genomics/genetics? Are you an enthusiastic teacher, committed to delivering a first class learning and teaching experience with a demonstrated ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate level? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience and furthering your career in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

We are looking to recruit two individuals with disciplinary expertise in data analytics (statistical or computational) as applied to human genomics/genetics or background in human genomics with computational or statistical expertise. You will play a key role in the development and delivery of the new portfolio of digital and blended modules and programmes in theFaculty of Biological Sciences/Faculty of Medicine & Health. The programme is an evolution of the existing campus-based MSc Precision Medicine: Genomic Data Science, which trains students from the biological sciences and medicine, with little previous experience in statistics or data science, in the analysis of large-scale genomic data. You will play an integral role in the creation and delivery of sector-leading online learning and assessment materials, supported by one of the UK’s leading teams of experts in creating digital online resources: Leeds’ Digital Education Service.

For this role, you should have a PhD or equivalent experience in data analytics (statistical or computational) as applied to human genomics/genetics or a background in human genomics with computational or statistical expertise. You should also have experience of designing and delivering high quality learning, teaching and assessment to undergraduate or postgraduate (Masters) students.
