Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s OneTech organization is looking for smart, passionate, and highly motivated Technology leader to join our Digital Engineering team who has a keen sense of ownership and strong engineering, mindset. As a Sr. Engineer in Digital Engineer team you will be responsible for architecting, designing, building solutions that would serve TMNA infrastructure, application and end user services environments.

The primary responsibility of this role is to strategize, plan and build digital solutions working in collaboration with technology leaders of every OneTech function, sales, manufacturing, and other functions as the Digital engineering span across North America facilities. The candidate will work across the OneTech to architect, developed solutions in accordance with TMNA standards.

The position requires strategic and deep customer focused thinking, technical skill to architect, build new solutions and make faster decisions. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are highly detailed oriented and take pride in their deliverables. Ability to work with technology leaders across OneTech to design, architect and build new solutions. Ability to learn, critical thinking, to design new solutions using Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), cloud and other technologies. This role is also responsible to bring innovation to respective business portfolio.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, the person in this role will support the Digital Platform Engineering department’s objective to embark on a large-scale modernization to automate our on-prem legacy infrastructure, application, and end user services environments to modern, automated, software-driven self-services-based solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for architecting, designing and building solutions that would serve TMNA infrastructure, application and end user services environments
  • Responsible for driving strategic vision for the Digital ensuring a robust product roadmap to support the Toyota’s digital solutions strategy
  • Build framework and governance
  • Lead architecture meetings and technical discussions with the focus of reaching consensus and best practice solutions
  • Break down tasks for other engineers and offer guidance to other engineers on the team when they are blocked
  • Create engaging technical content including writing internal company blog posts, white-papers, practical guides, and platform demos
  • Stay current with industry trends and recommend relevant technologies and products in the areas of on prem and cloud
  • Champion and drive digital transformation enterprise wide to improve their effectiveness and efficiency through
  • Be the technical lead for Digital team that provides Infrastructure, Application delivery
  • Be a trusted liaison between Digital and other DPE teams
  • Lead, coach, pair with, and mentor engineers and architects of diverse backgrounds
  • Engage in code and architecture reviews helping maintain our coding standards and provide cost optimization guidance for running the Platform
  • Meet with stakeholders and business leaders to identify opportunities, improve overall efficiencies using solutions.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in using AI/ML technologies, configuration management, deployment, infrastructure orchestration, monitoring, and analytics
  • Experience using knowledge in programming languages and coding software like Python, Ansible, etc.- with the ability to lead through ambiguity while partnering across organizations
  • Experience with developing infrastructure using tools like PagerDuty, DataDog, AppNeta, Microsoft SCOM, Nagios etc.,
  • Experience with Cloud technologies, AWS, GCP, and Azure for deployment, and lifecycle management of SaaS solutions
  • Experience using communication (verbal/written) and collaboration, time management skills, decision making and organizational abilities
  • Extensive ability to research the latest trends and propose advanced tooling/solutions for infrastructure management and
  • Experience leveraging AWS/Azure/GCP Platform to deploy highly reliable and scalable cloud applications
  • Experience working with systems design; integration of computing, storage, and network technologies to deliver cohesive infrastructure solutions

  • Experience using Multicloud
  • GitHub presence with contribution and/or collaboration with open-source communities
  • Experience working in large, multi-faceted, and matrixed organizations
  • Experience as an Observability engineer
