RightHand Robotics (RHR) is building a world-class team to solve the biggest problem in ecommerce logistics: how to fulfill orders, despite demand that’s growing at six times the rate of available labor. Our cutting-edge robotic picking systems manipulate hundreds of thousands of items -- it’s a software-driven, hardware-enabled technology that meets the increasing demands of e-commerce order fulfillment and other industries.

We’re looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to work with our Hardware Team to assist with firmware development, testing, and support for R&D and manufacturing operations. 

You Will:

  • Architect, maintain, and develop low-level embedded code to run on our custom PCBs and related higher-level code
  • Function as part of a team of engineers in the execution of product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification
  • Participate in regular design and code reviews for your own work and the work of others
  • Use test equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to debug and troubleshoot issues for new designs and sustaining engineering of existing products.
  • Aid in the development, programming, maintenance of QC test equipment

You Are (or You Have):

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
  • 7+ years of experience in the design and debugging of embedded systems
  • Proficiency with both high-level scripting languages (such as Python) and low-level compiled languages (such as c/c++)
  • Proficiency working with micro-controller internal and on-board peripherals.
  • Strong knowledge of communications interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience with version control and software development practices such as git and Agile
  • Ability to read and give feedback on electrical schematics and designs

Bonus Points:

  • Ability to make basic edits or improvements to existing schematics and board layouts in Altium
  • Experience with EMC/EMI certification testing
  • Experience with industrial automation and controls
  • Experience with DC motors and controls systems implementation
