Job Description

As a Senior Data Architect you will be responsible for the data architecture that governs how our data is collected, stored, processed, integrated, and used. Help build a data catalog, design data models to empower product, marketing and analytics, evaluate various internal and external sources, and ensure data quality. Your curiosity and passion for data will drive close work with Engineering and Product teams to develop data-centric solutions for our millions of customers.

Responsibilities (including estimated time of how much of an average week is spent doing each item - this is subject to change):

• 25% - Data Architecture: Provide hands-on technical and execution leadership for engineering teams. Propose and review architecture deliverables throughout the development process to ensure quality, security, and traceability aligned with enterprise data strategy.
• 25% - Data Modeling: Analyze and define data requirements to design appropriate data models and structures.
• Data Modeling: Collaborate with developers to create, integrate, and optimize data models.
• 10% - Data Catalog: Develop and maintain a formal description of the data and data structures including the data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and technical metadata.
• 15% - Data Profiling: Generate and analyze descriptive statistics of new and existing data sources to evaluate their quality.
• 15% - Data Governance: Provide governance oversight to ensure adherence to information architecture strategy, principles, standards, policies, and procedures.
• 10% - Collaborate on multiple cross-functional projects, prioritize work effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, sophisticated environment.
• Research and maintain knowledge in emerging data technologies and solutions to solve business problems.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Data Architecture, Data Catalog, and Data Modeling.
• 3+ years of experience with Data Warehousing and Data Engineering.
• Expert experience with SQL.
• Experience with Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Security controls.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various teams.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum framework a plus.
