Job Description

Alethea Group is seeking a machine learning engineer to join our growing data science team. The team’s goal is to turn data from many online sources into actionable insights that aid the research into uncovering online disinformation campaigns. The team leads the efforts in creating models/tools that help identify narratives being discussed in the online world and identify coordination efforts and trends of said narratives. As part of this role, you will work closely with data scientists and engineers in developing and deploying models that help us identify and characterize the activity around a disinformation campaign.

Responsibilities Include:

• Working closely with data scientists and engineers to deploy models in our analytical platform.
• Collaborate across teams to create end-to-end pipelines that cover steps from data preparation to monitoring models in production
• Lead the development of new capabilities and help support/improve existing models
• Help shape the overall tech development and direction for both the data science team and the company.

About You:

• B.S. or Masters in a quantitative field and industry experience of 2-years in a similar position
• Excellent programming skills in Python
• Prior experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow
• Prior experience with natural language processing, computer vision or other specialized field
• Experience creating and testing scalable pipelines for ML model training/testing/deployment.
• Experience using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
• Self-motivated and proactive individuals that help identify challenges and provide solutions.
• Good interpersonal skills and and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary and stock options are negotiated based on experience.
