As part of this team you will focus on the development and research of machine learning solutions and algorithms for core planning systems, as well as for other applications within Amazon Transportation Services and impact the future of the Amazon transportation network. Current research and areas of work within our team include machine learning forecast, online reinforcement learning, and anomaly detection models, among others.

We are looking for a Machine Learning Scientist with a strong academic background in the areas of machine learning, signal processing, statistics or optimisation. Experience with using RNNs for time series forecasting is a plus.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics (alternatively, MSc. and 3+ years in an ML scientist role).
• Deep knowledge of machine learning fundamentals
• Strong coding skills in Python.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning
• Experience working with cloud computing services such as AWS
