WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a member of the growing Insights Data Science team in Bain’s Advanced Analytics Group, you will:

• Collaborate closely with and influence business consulting staff and leaders as part of multi-disciplinary teams to assess opportunities and develop data driven solutions for Bain clients across a variety of sectors
• Translate business objectives into data and analytics solutions and, translate results into business insights using appropriate descriptive, exploratory and predictive modeling and hypothesis testing
• Collaborate with AAG senior leadership to build out our Insights Data Science capabilities across EMEA
• Help with recruiting and onboarding for insights data science talent
• Ensure standards and guidelines are being used by team to develop re-usable common frameworks, model and components that address repeatable tasks and problem/data sets in specific industries or business functions
• Share learnings and drive adoption of best demonstrated practices with your teammates in AAG about theoretical and technical developments in the rapidly evolving data science field, collaborate with the open source community, and work together to create a great working environment that attracts other great data scientists
• Keep abreast of new and current insights data science techniques and technologies
• Work with consulting teams to understand business problems, translate them into data science projects and appropriately prioritize and execute
• Act as an ambassador and coach towards insights teams at our clients and partners to raise their capabilities and ensure that our work is successfully deployed

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has:

• Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Math, Statistics, Econometrics, or Social Sciences
• 7+ years of experience in analytics, with a primary focus on marketing analytics and/or customer insights analytics
• Previous people management a plus
• Consulting experience a plus
• Ability to work independently and juggle priorities to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while also collaborating as part of a team in complex situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss analytic approaches with colleagues and clients at all levels
• Ability to guide junior data scientists on where to develop their capabilities to stay current and support Bain’s needs and ambitions
• Deep statistical foundations including Bayesian methods
• Experience with common machine learning methods for unsupervised and predictive applications
• Experience with marketing science applications including customer segmentation, price and promotion, campaign evaluation & attribution, A/B and multivariate testing, and media mix modeling
• Experience in conjoint analysis, text analytics, whitespace analysis and causal inference is a plus
• Strong data visualization skills
• Passion for staying abreast of advancements in ML that have direct impact on Insights
• Proficiency in Python or R required
• Proficiency in SQL required
• This position will be located in any of these locations – London, Berlin, Munich, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Zurich, Copenhagen
• Travel is required (likely 30%)
