The FM-PM team is a team of Product Managers and Engineers working together to create compelling and innovative experiences for our customers. We are transforming what’s possible for an audio streaming service and you will be key part of defining and enabling that transformation. . Our team is focused on giving customers the best mixed media experience from music discovery to music videos and live streaming to podcasts. We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, across a broad selection of Visual and Voice devices to support Amazon Music’s mission of delivering music and more to customers in new and exciting ways that enhance their day-to-day lives.

We are looking for a visionary Senior Data Scientist to partner with Product, Engineering, Data and Machine Learning leads across the broader Organization to derive compelling insights and inform our product and tech strategy. You will have an outsized opportunity to impact the product strategy, customer experience, architecture, and implementation of a marquee business initiative with a 3 year vision. You will work with Engineers across Personalization, Search, Voice and Ads to build and/or enhance ML models that understand Free and Prime customer signals and power delightful CX that just works effortlessly for the customer. You will play a big role in asking the right questions of our data and improving the data quality across the stack. You will be responsible for expanding the boundaries of what’s possible in the end-to-end customer lifecycle with a focus on growing customer engagement, ramping listening hours, increasing consumption of more media types, and improving overall customer retention.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with Engineering, Product and Machine Learning leaders to develop data-driven business strategy for Prime and Free tiers
  • Deliver insights and recommendations to help shape strategy across Amazon Music consumer product domains
  • Contribute to research and development of models and science products powering personalization and experimentation
  • Be the Data advocate for Free and Prime tiers across DISCO, P13n, Search, and other organizations and influence their roadmaps
  • Help scale self-service analytics and insights offerings by partnering with relevant organizations
  • Partner with science, marketing and product teams across Amazon entertainment and subscription businesses
  • Educate and evangelize across internal teams on analytics, insights and measurement by writing whitepapers, knowledge documentation and delivering learning sessions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)
  • 4+ years working as a Data Scientist

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics or a related quantitative field
  • Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis
  • Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous data concepts and considerations to non-expert
