Profile of candidate we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 4-6 years of experience
  • Domain knowledge of at least one of the following business functions – Procurement/ Supply Chain/ Finance/ Sales/ Customer Service
  • Procurement or Logistics professional interested in Data Analytics OR, Data Analytics professional interested in Logistics or Procurement or in working with a giant in both logistics and procurement.
  • Data Skills: Advanced Analysis and Modelling on Excel incl. Macros, Solver, etc., Visualization on Power BI or similar tools And/ Or Procurement skills: Knowledge of categories pertaining to ocean or landside logistics, creation of cost and optimization models, FACT based modelling
  • Must know: MS Excel, Good to know: Python or R
  • Ability to translate business requirement into data use cases, Problem solving skills, experience of working in an environment with sharp analytical requirements
  • Open to work with ambiguities, communicate difficulties and derive possible solutions
  • Stakeholder management and requirement gathering skills, ability to join the dots between distinct conversations to visualize larger picture and develop a wholesome solution
  • Proven track record of taking initiatives and delivering process or product enhancement
  • Good communication and pleasant interpersonal skills are essential to succeed in this role

Key Responsibilities:

Way of working:

  • Strong ownership of both process and results, timeliness, and communication.
  • Teamwork: Learn from, share with, and guide fellow team members on technical and business know-how and developments.

Data Analytics – Operations:

  • Identify key negotiation levers using spreadsheet based (MS Excel) analysis of procurement data such as spend, rate repositories, contracts, supplier ratings and tenders.
  • Dashboarding and visualization on Power BI
  • Creating and refining models using advanced excel functions for procurement specific needs like scenario analysis, should cost, total cost of ownership, forecasting, etc.
  • Conscious build-in of quality, standardization and intuitiveness in outputs so that they can be scaled up and replicated.

Capability building on Tools and Predictive Analytics:

  • Give shape to use-cases existing within organization that demand predictive analytics capabilities
  • Qualify external databases to solve problems/ create models influenced by both internal and external variables
  • Initially participate in and eventually drive team wide adoption of Python as a tool for large databases.

Product Development and upgrades:

  • Drive periodic upgrades in quality and speed of delivering output and insights – through planned automation led ease of access and improvement in quality of data inputs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the data offerings for new category verticals within procurement.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate evolving business requirement into data-based solutions
  • Facilitate alignment and bridge different requirements to develop and scale-up new offerings
