The Service Delivery Platforms Portfolio is building solutions to manage our network and improve our delivery times without incurring in higher costs. As a Data Scientist your main responsibilities will be to use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems to inform business decisions that will help us achieve our strategic goals.

As a Data Scientist in the team, you will primarily need to use SQL to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (e.g. Redshift or Azure) and build metrics and subsequent bridges. The role requires working with multiple stakeholders both inside the Service Delivery Platforms Portfolio and the Operations, and Global Data Analytics teams. As such, strong interpersonal skills are key for success in the role.

Key responsibilities

• Use SQL to extract data and build metrics and bridges.
• Build curated datasets that allow for faster analysis that technical stakeholders may be able to utilise with basic SQL skills
• Be able to articulate key findings from the data and understand any biases in the approach.
• Understand business problems from lesser-technical users and be able to translate into technical requirements.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate blockers in a timely manner.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders.

We are looking for

• Existing work experience in Business Intelligence working with big data to solve business problems.
• Strong analytical skills backed up with statistical knowledge gained either academically or through work experience.
• A natural interest in technology, standardization, automation, and optimization of processes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex messages.
• Ability to stay motivated in a fast-moving environment where priorities change and with a requirement to deliver results.
• Independent and self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning.

Preferred qualifications:

• At least 3 years’ experience from a top tech firm
  Or at least 3 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management.
