Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.

You will be a key member of our highly integrated multi-disciplinary team of software, systems, applications and algorithm engineers.

  • Develop software prototype solutions to explore product and technology roadmap.
  • Demonstrate systematic problem-solving to resolve problems and standardize solutions.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams to contribute to system design changes for manufacturability, serviceability, and testability.
  • Enable successful technical integration of hardware and software system solutions.
  • Drive adoption of best industry practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to automated continuous integration pipeline to build, test, and release.
  • Develop creative solutions to increase engineering productivity and velocity.
  • Develop and use automation tools to solve complex problems to build reliable software systems.
  • Minimum travel within the US may be required.

Hybrid Work:

This position allows flexibility and requires 3 days in the office.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 0 years , Master's Level Degree or work experience of 2 years , Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 3 years

  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, and software design.
  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C++, C#, Python.

Additional Qualification:

  • Strong communication skills and sense of ownership to drive change.
  • Exposure to test driven development and continuous integration.
  • Hands-on experience in scripting, data analysis, and data visualization.
  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, and software design.
  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C++, C#, Python.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware integration product solutions.
  • Working knowledge of defining and driving software reliability testing.
