Job Description

As a Data Architect, you will scope and lead large projects around Ricoh's data and analytics platform, working closely with the business teams to define Ricoh's data strategy and roadmap to deliver analytics and reporting solutions that enable our business teams to continue growing and evolving Ricoh's business. You will work under the general direction of a Director, providing expertise and technical guidance that is backed up by an in-depth data architecture, reporting and functional domain expertise.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify business data content and analytics needs, define Ricoh's data strategy around it with innovative and effective solutions
  • Plan, architect, and communicate Data Platform architecture and define Roadmap
  • Define, establish and measure design standards and guidelines, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data architecture, data modeling, metadata and reporting framework.
  • Design and implement datastores, data lakes, data warehouses, and data integrations. Lead and execute data design and engineering work, coordinating across multiple teams.
  • Define ETL processes and standards for organization.
  • Help collect, analyze, and understand requirements, advise leadership team and development staff on what's possible; scope and estimate data initiatives.
  • Work with development teams on solutions discussion, implement complex design solutions, perform code reviews, give oversight and track delivery of the various initiatives.
  • Leads and executes projects and initiatives in full compliance with defined processes and controls.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other team leads, business leadership, and development teams to ensure on time and budget deliveries.

 Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Typically Required:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology with 3+ years experience leading complex IT projects around Data warehousing, analytics and reporting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data architecture and data design solutions, preferably AWS or other cloud solutions
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience on MPP databases, preferably Snowflake. BI reporting, Dashboard development. Hands on experience utilizing SQL and / or relational database tools (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or similar databases)
  • Minimum 4 years of data engineering experience around data warehousing, reporting environments, working on ETL tools, preferably using Informatica ETL tools
  • Coding proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc)
  • Expertise in traditional/on premise data warehouse, data management, data migration and data store design/implementation with significant experience designing/deploying/migrating scalable solutions in cloud environments.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with various senior level stakeholders. Experience in team management, communication, and presentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction -- prepare, provide and convey diversified information.

 Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). Moderate dexterity -- regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
