POSITION PROFILE

• Technical professional who is participates in the design of data modeling processes, as well as creating algorithms and models to extract the information needed by our organization to solve complex problems.
• Develops new, and modifies, improves, or supports existing solutions. Work could be part of a larger project.
• Works under the normal supervision of management, and under the general guidance of more experienced professionals.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work on data science projects with guidance.
• Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Develop data models or use existing algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Test model quality.
• Proactively stay up to date on latest data science research and technological advancement in the field.
• Reports to project planning in the team or local unit.
• Accountable for completion of technical objectives on schedule and within cost, quality, and design specifications.
• Understands and follows existing development processes.
• Positively and actively supports changing business needs.
• Documents own work.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

• Has basic theoretical and conceptual knowledge in the field of Data Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistics and BI Visualizations.
• Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, engineering, or other related field of study (Masters or PhD preferred).
• High level proficiency with Python and machine learning frameworks.
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational database, cloud services for big data and ML, and BI tools.
