Job Description

Led by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Technology Risk secures Goldman Sachs against hackers and other cyber threats. We are responsible for detecting and preventing attempted cyber intrusions against the firm, helping the firm develop more secure applications and infrastructure, developing software in support of our efforts, measuring cybersecurity risk, and designing and driving implementation of cybersecurity controls. The team has global presence across the Americas, APAC, India and EMEA.

Within Technology Risk, the Global Cyber Defense & Intelligence (GCDI) identifies malicious activity, manage the lifecycle of vulnerabilities within GS technologies, and investigates and manages threats across the firm. We are a team of security, software, and product engineers that allow the firm to respond appropriately to firm risks through the use of detection models, security architecture, and cutting-edge cyber threat analysis to manage internal and external threats against the firm.

Goldman Sachs has one of the most progressive Technology Risk teams in the industry and is continuing to push the development of risk in preference to security within technology and the business. Year on year success has led the team to work deeper into the organization and gain valuable insights into how technology needs to function, what its risk really is and how this impacts the business.

YOUR IMPACT

You will be a key addition to GCDI’s Data team, which focuses on identifying undesirable activities and behaviors by analyzing complex relationships within security, infrastructure and other large volume data sets

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Your responsibilities will include managing a team of Data Scientists tasked with delivering security related insights by leveraging predictive modeling, natural language processing, anomaly detection, time series forecasting, deep learning, and other techniques on high-volume and high-velocity data. You will serve as a data science subject matter expert and assist with algorithm and feature selection. Additionally, you will work closely with other teams within SIRT to identify problem areas where data science methodologies can be leveraged to provide increased visibility.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a team data scientists focused on the cyber security domain
• Collaborating with other teams within SIRT to conceive plans and prioritize projects
• Driving ML Ops processes to enable continuous building, testing, and publishing of ML models
• Collaborating with GCDI’s engineering team on data science tools and infrastructure
• Reviewing and approving data science implementations to ensure adherence to firm standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience in systems using machine learning and other artificial intelligence techniques
• Experience working closely with data scientists and appreciation for their unique workflow
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to stay commercially focused and to always push for quantifiable commercial impact
• Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner
