The Marketing Analytics and Business Intelligence team at Asurion helps the company make informed decisions. As experts in subscriber growth performance and drivers, we inform, advise, and recommend data driven decision making and performance optimization. To deliver on this mission, our team brings together experts in data, business intelligence, analytics, and developers to build data tools and products.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer in the Marketing Analytics team, you will serve as an expert who has the technical skills to develop scalable datasets, complex reports and dashboards to support our advanced analytical products for our internal Sales and Marketing partners. In this role, you will examine the data landscape to build custom datasets, reports and dashboards that will be used by stakeholders across marketing, sales, and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Business Intelligence and ETL tools, data modeling techniques, critical thinking proficiency, superior analytical skills, strong business acumen, and solid communication skills. The candidate must be customer-centric and be able to balance the demands of a rapidly growing, complex entrepreneurial environment where ingenuity, rather than precedence, drives how things should be done.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Analytics, Sales, and Marketing leaders to identify data and reporting needs and opportunities. Align reporting priorities with the company strategy and Marketing roadmap
• Interview stakeholders to understand data and reporting needs. Perform requirement analysis, design and prototype with input from stakeholders
• Collaborate with Data Engineering team to design data models to meet business requirements
• Use SQL to analyze existing data and assist in the creation of datasets
• Design and develop complex and performant datasets using BI tools, especially Power BI
• Develop intuitive and functional reports and dashboards
• Build both ad-hoc and reusable code and maintain that code to support analytics
• Develop prototypes for new data product ideas and build reports for deployment

Essential Qualifications

• +4 years of prior work experience in Business Intelligence roles (e.g., engineer, design, testing)
• Experience building complex datasets using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau
• Experience with DAX, Power Query M, SQL
• Proficiency with using SQL and working different relational database management systems
• Analytical mindset and experience
• Ability to manage ambiguity and communicate uncertainty
• Strong ability to communicate, explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Familiarity collaborating with Data Engineering teams
• Experience building intuitive and informative reports and dashboards
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical disciplines (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Management)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity using Agile and DevOps principles
• Experience/familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI Desktop, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Spotfire
• Familiarity working in Marketing, Sales, or Performance Management
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform – Flow, Dataverse, etc.
• Familiarity with Power BI REST API
• Experience/familiarity in Statistical Analysis and machine learning
• Experience/familiarity with modern analytical tools like R, Python and automation tools like Dataiku
