Responsibilities

The MHS Data Analyst will be responsible for performing data analysis across a broad range of healthcare optimization topics for the Military Health System. This involves maintaining enterprise-level performance metrics reported to military leadership, analyzing data from central data repositories, and describing trends and results in high-visibility documents. Additionally, the analyst will conduct statistical analysis and explanatory and predictive modeling to determine best practices and to develop actionable insights and recommendations for current operations or issues. The analyst may also handle special analytical projects as needed.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis of large data sets in various programs and formats.
  • Create visual representations of data outcomes and describe trends and insights to leadership.
  • Maintain and update key metric dashboards and reports.
  • Balance a combination of recurring to ad hoc data analysis requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support the development of work products and deliverables.
  • Assist with the development of analyses to address legislative requirements or priority initiatives; review numbers, identify trends, and data.
  • Create dashboards and reports; present reports/dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Run and maintain MS Excel based models.
  • Develop slide decks / presentations and Memorandums to/from DoD Senior Leaders.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in data analytics or a related relevant field such as economics, biostatistics, business, public health, or data science.
  • Must be U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office Products and related applications.
  • Experience performing advanced statistical methods (identifying and adjusting for distributions, bivariate analysis, regressions of different varieties (linear, logistic, generalized linear)).
  • Experience performing advanced Excel functions (Get & Transform, DAX).
  • Creative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mind-set.
  • Ability to develop strong team and client relationships.
  • Experience analyzing medical/pharmacy claims.
  • SAS programming experience

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience analyzing military health data.

· Client-facing experience in a consulting environment.

· Master’s degree in statistics, economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, data analytics, data science or related field.

· Experience analyzing pharmacy claims and pharmacy-specific costs and adjustments (AWP, WAC, member responsibility, ingredient costs, incentives, etc.)

· Experience with machine-learning or decision tree models.

· Experience with other methods of statistical analyses (generalized linear models, difference-in-differences, logistic regression).
