We are looking for a Data Science Manager to join our growing flock of Data Scientists. You’ll play a critical role in defining how the data science team builds and acquires data to power our data science and cyber risk assessment products. This role will be responsible for acquiring, building and working with large security datasets to extract underwriting insights that support Corvus’ rapid growth. This position will report to the VP of Data Science and work closely with our Threat Intelligence, Underwriting, Product and Engineering teams to build industry leading cyber underwriting products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 2-4 data scientists or cyber risk analysts
  • Lead and oversee the data science team’s cyber data acquisition and enrichment efforts, through building proprietary data assets and supporting partnership efforts
  • Contribute to models assessing cyber security risk and communicate insights to underwriters and policyholders
  • Coach team members on data science best practices and relevant security data
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and the Insurance Team to translate product ideas into data problems, and solve them
  • Clearly communicate analysis and train stakeholders to use our data products
  • Work closely with Engineers to deploy and monitor data products

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in analytical information security roles, as a data scientist or other related position
  • 2+ years of experience managing analytical teams
  • Experience working with computer networking, cybersecurity, or related datasets
  • Knowledge of current security trends, threats, and mitigations.
  • Experience with Python, R or other similar scripting languages
