The Data Sciences team at Sanofi is working to accelerate the development and optimization of biologics purification processes using computational tools and high-throughput experimental workflows. Traditional modeling approaches for process development involve either rigorous first principles models which are time consuming to design and calibrate, or empirical design of experiments (DoE) approaches which provide little fundamental understanding of a system.
We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist to develop new and innovative hybrid models which combine the best characteristics of both mechanistic and empirical models to accelerate process development, optimization, and troubleshooting. This role will help design a novel simulation framework that can be used to model downstream unit operations such as chromatography and filtration using a combination of physics-based and empirical (MVA/ML) techniques. Additionally, the scientist will help develop a standardized model calibration workflow, leveraging high-throughput experimentation to rapidly generate data for model development. This high-impact project will be a key step in Sanofi’s digital transformation to accelerate bringing medicines to patients.
