Job Description

Role: Data Scientist

Mission: To be able to understand Data, to process it, to extract value from it, to visualize it and to communicate it.

Purpose: Understand business goals and determine how data can be used to achieve these goals. The Data Scientist is accountable for building data intelligence capability through Big Data, Process Analytical Technology, Advanced Process Control, Process Modelling, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Robotics within agreed timelines and budgetary guidelines. The rôle is a key contributor to the data integration project for the organization.

Action Areas , Deliverables and Outcomes

1. Advanced Data Analytics

• Responsible for applying data science expertise to multiple commercial and customer analytics projects
• Responsible for applying analytics to individual-level data and/or marketing data sources, including data regarding media and digital audiences to attribute sales and operations impact.
• Translate business requirements into tangible solution specifications and high quality, on time deliverables
• Data discovery, data acquisition, data processing & cleaning, data integration & storage & data interpretation

2. Data visualization & story telling

• Scope, Define and deliver AI-based data products based on data analysis, visualization, storytelling, and data technologies.
• Build models, algorithms, simulations, and performance evaluation by writing highly optimized, deployable code and using state-of-the art machine learning technologies
• Work with stakeholders to analyse & solve business problems using Machine learning & Artificial Intelligence capabilities & support deployment on cloud platform

3. Future readiness

• Work with developers, engineers, and MLOps to deliver AI/ML solutions.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations and developments in AI/ML and work with other MI teams to pilot new advances and keep the organization future ready

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies / Language

• Experience AI / ML modeling of complex datasets, preferably commercial or customer analytics
• An aptitude and skills for data visualization and data story telling
• Experience with some aspects of pharmaceutical operations
• Expertise with the core data science languages (such as Python, R, Scala), and familiarity & flexibility with data systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, knowledge graphs)
• Comfortable working in cloud and high-performance computational environments (e.g. AWS, Apache Spark, Databricks)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills
• Agile

Qualifications

• Master’s in data science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical field along with 8+ years of Data Science experience

Any other requirements of the job

Desirable experience:

• Knowledge of some customer-focused modeling approaches (Market Mix Models, demand forecasting, elasticity modeling, mixed effects modeling, reinforcement modeling, markov simulations)
• Disciplined AI / ML development (CI / CD, Orchestration)
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau
• Privacy preserving data analytics
