About Me
Hello, my name is Mukundan Murali, a masters student pursuing a two-year masters in Systems Biology with a Specialization in Bioinformatics at the University of Skövde, Sweden. I am originally from Vestal, NY and will available to work in the United States for the summer of 2024. My undergraduate was in Biological Sciences at SUNY Binghamton, and at SUNY Binghamton I was a research assistant under Dr. Peter McKenney where I was first introduced to bioinformatic analysis, cell culture work, and lab safety precautions. Currently, the interest for my masters thesis revolves around understanding the genetic and molecular mechanisms of hypokalemia, a condition that my close friend suffers from that has almost killed him on several occasions. I am looking to gain more bioinformatic and coding experience, and currently have Python and R experience through my coursework.
