I am an experienced computational biologist with 10 years' experience in computer science in a biology and radiology context. I have been primarily self-taught, and have acquired a lot of computational skills as related to data analysis and bioinformatics, particularly in R and Python. I have also done a small amount of machine learning work and self-taught myself the principles of a variety of models. However, I only have hands on experience with the CNNs/the UNET architecture and applied it to both radiology and biological problems. I am wanting to transition more into the AI space, and as such am looking for a place to get practical experience with NLP, computer vision, transformer models, and decision making. With my excellent learning skills and critical thinking proven by my PhD, I will catch on quickly and be a valuable asset in the process.
