About Me

I am Siri Shivashankar Revant and I am 22 years old. I am a budding cook in my free time and an excellent football player, I like to read, I like to take care of my tiny garden, I like to drive and I like to draw sometimes too. I have recently finished my Bachelors in Computer science and completed my internship with a health care startup in Bengaluru, India, as an AI/ML intern. Since my introduction to the course of Data mining and analysis, I have always been interested in exploring the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence, thus as a result have worked on multiple applications of these. Starting with building a basic image classification application using the Googlenet architecture, after which my interest was peaked and I dived deep into this world. I participated in a Datathon organised by Seagate, where the main problem was to classify the wafers manufactured by them using the imbalanced dataset provided. I quite successfully participated and completed 4th amongst all the teams participating from around the world. This competition pushed my spirits to explore this field further and I kept participating in such datathons, the other most significant datathon was the WIDS, a yearly datathon conducted by a collaboration of universities such as Stanford and Harvard. The problem statement for the one I participated was to find the energy consumption of various buildings in an area based on the various factors ranging from climatic conditions to power consumptions of the building throughout an year. I finished that successfully too and was placed 129th on the global leader board. Having gained significant knowledge from these, I applied to two positions for internships, one being a Data science intern at a firm called Exactspace, which worked in the industry manufacturing sector and the other being an AI/ML intern at a very young startup working in the public health sector called Parishra Internation(now called Prar Labs), I was selected for both but decided to work for Parishra to understand the working of a startup and further enhance my skill set by learning on, from the various requirements throughout the way. A lot of experience and knowledge was gained from working for Parishra, we went on many workations, spent significant time on building the product from ground zero, spent several hours working in war rooms, and finally came up with a finished product. After successfully completing my internship, I found myself eager to work as a Data scientist next, at a bigger corporate to understand how they work and what challenges they face and how can I contribute to the growth of such organizations.
