About Me

Hello! My name is Mahmoud and I am a graduate student pursuing a master’s in computer science at Northeastern University. Originally I didn’t intend to pursue software development as a career - I wanted to be a lawyer, and only took computer science classes out of curiosity and because I thought it would develop my problem solving skills no matter my career path. Nevertheless, I developed an appreciation for the thinking and design paradigms associated with computer science, and actually used the skills I gained for some personal work which was very rewarding. Seeing what I can accomplish with the limited skills I had led me to realize how much potential I have and I decided that the best way to fully realize that potential was to enroll in a graduate computer science program. Working on a wide range of projects that cover a broad set of topics and skills has given me the ability to take on any type of project no matter how unfamiliar the technology stack, and effortlessly parse through technical documentation. And my past experiences as a tutor has honed my ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively. In joining your team, I intend to bring three key qualities: (i) a limitless capacity to learn new things; (ii) a willingness to assist with projects outside my role/team; and (iii) a versatile problem-solving approach honed as a math major. I want to be surrounded by people who constantly push the limits of the possible so that I can take my goals for my team and our work as far as possible.
