About Me

Hi, I'm Kismat Khatri, a passionate data science student at The George Washington University with a 4.0 GPA. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, where I received the Compex Scholarship from the Indian Embassy in Nepal. My technical skills include Python, R, SQL, HTML, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS, QGIS, Sklearn, Stats Model, Keras, Pandas, AWS, Adobe Illustrator, and more. In my data science projects, I have designed and developed AI models for smart healthcare systems, provided AI-based solutions for monitoring and detecting social distancing violations during the COVID-19 pandemic, and built machine learning models to detect phishing websites accurately. I am also experienced in teaching and assisting others with computer applications, data analysis, and technical issues. As a Global Leader and Peters Endowed Graduate Fellow, I have demonstrated leadership and a commitment to social causes by volunteering for organizations such as Amnesty International and Nepal Red Cross Society. I'm excited about the future of data science and its potential to transform industries and improve lives, and I'm looking forward to contributing to this field in meaningful ways.  As a highly skilled and self-motivated individual, I have consistently maintained high quality in my work while meeting committed deadlines. My proficiency with Python and SQL allows me to be self-sufficient in analyzing complex and disparate data sources. I have experience with statistical analysis and familiarity with data science techniques and the theory behind them. Additionally, I possess knowledge of clinical trial data and/or large healthcare datasets, which I believe would be a valuable asset to your company. My current research focuses on investigating the relationship between 3D genome organization and gene expression, specifically exploring the impact of contact maps on promoter regulation. Through this work, I have developed a strong foundation in computational biology, deep learning, machine learning, biostatistics, Linux, and data visualization tools such as Juicebox. I am skilled in analyzing complex genomic data sets, applying advanced statistical techniques, and using machine learning algorithms to uncover meaningful insights. In my previous experiences, I have designed, developed and validated statistical models for novel medical applications. I have implemented and evaluated algorithms based on research literature and reported findings to internal teams. I have also conducted exploratory data analysis to find opportunities for process optimization and used models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. As a data scientist, I am comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. I have the ability to think creatively, access and analyze data independently, and evaluate both the big picture and the key details effectively. I am able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize deliverables to achieve results. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science and have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. I am excited about the opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge to help your company make smarter decisions and deliver even better tools. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss my qualifications and how I can contribute to your team.
