About Me

Prior to my freshman year, I worked on several projects that helped me develop skills competent for this internship. First, I built an online platform called ‘INSAM’ (INternational Students’ Achievement Map) with my team for students seeking financial support to study abroad. We built an information hub with information that can help high school students with college applications such as extracurricular activities, competitions, and courses categorized by different majors. This helped me develop skills to carry out projects based on my strong initiatives along with basic website-building skills. Second, as Head of Department of Justice, I oversaw all aspects of the entire student bodies’ demerit points and merit points, by updating the points weekly using excel and operating the school intranet. Through this experience, I gained the skills to manage large amounts of data and convert them into usable information. Lastly, I led a team of four students to create a software app that suggests the most effective sleeping environment for individual users. In the process of collecting data from surveys and experiments that record brain waves, I learn the skills to collect and analyze data without bias. After matriculation to Duke, I am continuing to explore more opportunities in my interest field of computer science and its effects on society as I am currently working as the Technology Development Manager at Dime, a marketplace startup for Gen-Z businesses. As I plan to devote my career in the field of computer science, an internship opportunity in computer science perfectly aligns with my interest in using different computer languages to build products that contribute to a positive change in society. I have no doubt that given an opportunity to work as an intern, I would be a fast-learning, dedicated contributor to the team with strong initiatives.
