Participation in the internship program requires that you are located in Canada for the duration of the internship program.

This internship is intended for students who are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with an anticipated graduation date on or before June 2023, depending on their program and unique circumstances.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related technical field (e.g. engineering, mathematics, information systems, security etc).
  • Coding experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, C++, JavaScript.
  • Experience with attacks and mitigation methods, with experience in two or more of the following: network protocols and secure network design, operating system internals and hardening (e.g. Windows, Linux, OS X, Android), web application and browser security, security assessments and penetration testing, authentication and access control, applied cryptography and security protocols, security monitoring and intrusion detection, incident response and forensics, development of security tools, automation or frameworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Currently attending a degree program in Canada with plans to return to the degree program after completion of the internship.
  • Available to work full time for a minimum of 12 weeks outside of university term time.
  • Understanding of technical privacy issues and experience with the software development lifecycle.
  • Patience and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving good user outcomes.
