Job Description

At Silo AI engineers and researchers collaborate closely to tackle challenging real-world problems. We’re seeking AI engineers with the ability to build robust, low-latency, scalable search engines in production. We value experience with search engines, query understanding, natural language processing, machine learning, performance optimization, as well as distributed systems, large-scale systems and data management.

What will you be doing

As an AI Engineer, you'll work in a group of AI-driven product engineers, developing both client solutions as well as Silo AI's internal products. You will collaborate with ML experts, and learn about solving real-life cases using the latest ML techniques. The work is done as part of our Helsinki, Turku, or Oulu teams, and also working remotely from other locations in Finland is currently possible.

The responsibilities and tasks cover in particular:

• Building and setting up search infrastructure
• Implementing multilingual search
• Deploying AI, especially NLP models into production
• Enable AI and ML to serve even millions of end-users
• Work as part of the team with leading AI experts and use cutting edge tools
• Creating APIs and helping customers benefiting from AI models in operations

 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU

• You have strong experience in search engines, like ElasticSearch, Solr, Lucene
• You have understanding and experience of utilizing NLP in search tasks, such as query intent understanding
• You have experience in creating low-latency solutions
• You have experience in quality tuning (precision, recall, relevance tuning)
• You have experience in packaging machine learning models in containers
• You are familiar with NLP and DL libraries, such as SpaCy, Stanza, PyTorch
• You have a track record of producing quality code and developing software with different practices (CI/CD, version control)
• Understanding of other languages besides English, e.g. (Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic) is considered a plus
