Job Description

As an intern in the L&RE team, you will not just be executing tasks—you will be an active contributor to the engineering lifecycle. You will join a team of world-class engineers to design and implement features that bring Apple’s products to life for our international users.

Responsibilities

• Problem Identification & Solution Design: Analyze complex localization workflows to identify
• bottlenecks and architect novel machine learning solutions using LLMs and Generative AI.
• Full-Stack ML Development: Build and optimize end-to-end ML tools and features. You will be
• responsible for everything from data processing to model deployment, ensuring our solutions
• are robust and scalable.
• Analytical Thinking: Transform raw linguistic and technical data into actionable insights, using
• your findings to improve the quality and cultural relevance of our software.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global engineering teams to navigate technical
• hurdles across different time zones, contributing to the seamless delivery of Apple’s OS
• Continuous Innovation: Stay at the forefront of AI research and proactively propose how new

technologies can be applied to solve long-standing localization challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD degree in Computer Science, Software
• Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Solid foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
• and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a proven ability to deconstruct complex technical
• problems and propose creative solutions.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Python, Swift, C, C++, or Objective-C.
• Excellent communication skills with professional-level English proficiency (written and
• verbal), capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Problem-Solving: Experience navigating ambiguity and independent
• troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
• Applied AI Experience: A track record of building, training, and deploying ML models in real-
• world scenarios or significant academic projects.
• Deep Learning Expertise: Strong understanding of deep learning architectures, training
• methodologies, and the ethics of Generative AI.
