Job Description

The Commercial Distribution Model and Advisor Role Strategy (CDMARS) Insights & Analytics team enables use of data in strategic decision making, measures / monitors key initiative impact, leads process automation / optimization, and executes ad-hock data-related requests. CDMARS Insights & Analytics Intern will contribute to this mandate, responsible for supporting and conducting analysis, design, and implementation of data solutions, leveraging RBC’s enterprise suite of analytical tools.

What will you do?

  • Support and conduct analysis, design, and implementation of data solutions, leveraging RBC’s enterprise suite of analytical tools
  • Support with defining / implementing data governance, security, and integrity / accuracy of data in model development
  • Support with the implementation and maintenance of models
  • Build relationships and collaborate with the CDMARS Insights & Analytics team and other key business partners

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Experience with big data technologies and familiarity with range of data tools (Big Data Tools, Datameer, Teradata, SQL);
  • Experience with data manipulation with Python ecosystem (Pandas, Numpy, PySpark, etc.)
  • Experience with maintaining existing and creating new ETL infrastructure
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data, and to translate technical data findings into clear business friendly insights;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, as well as keen eye for detail to support team with QA reviews
  • Interest in the financial services industry

Nice-to-have

  • Experience building automated solutions using different tools combined (Python, SQL, Excel, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Business Intelligence and Visualization tools experience (Tableau, Datameer, PowerBI)
  • Data pipeline automation experience with Spark.
