What if your applied research directly shaped how enterprises use generative AI every day?

As an Intermediate Applied Scientist in the Knowledge AI team, you will design, build, and deploy natural language processing solutions that power Coveo’s generative AI capabilities at scale.

You will work hands-on with real-world data and production systems, collaborating closely with applied scientists, machine learning developers, and product partners to turn cutting-edge research into reliable, high-impact features used by hundreds of enterprise clients.

As one of our Intermediate Applied Scientists, you will:

• Design, train, evaluate, and deploy language models for use cases such as retrieval-augmented generation, question answering, summarization, and semantic search
• Contribute production-quality Python code using modern machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and Transformer-based frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define problems, experiment with new approaches, and translate research into practical solutions
• Drive experimentation cycles with sound evaluation methodologies and data-driven decision making
• Improve scientific best practices and contribute to shared research infrastructure alongside the machine learning platform team
• Continuously monitor model performance in production and iterate to improve robustness and relevance

Here is what will qualify you for the role:

• 2+ years of research experience or building natural language processing solutions at meaningful scale, supported by a master’s or doctoral degree in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field
• Programming skills in Python and experience writing maintainable, production-grade code
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams

What will make you stand out:

• Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle, from data preparation and modeling to deployment and monitoring of production systems
• Knowledge in one or more areas such as semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation, question answering, information retrieval, or information extraction
• Experience in an international or multicultural environment, with strong collaboration and communication skills
