Job Description

The role of Data Scientist is to Design & Develop analytical models & insight packs to support Local markets, Partner markets, and Corporate accounts to transform raw data into actionable intelligence using predictive & descriptive statistical techniques through all kind of data store.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Build, test and deliver new analytics / models using the new data sets as required to underpin use case.
  • Data preparation, cleansing, SQL and NO-SQL optimization and implementing statistical models
  • Play effective role in decision making processes for business customers by developing different types of models (descriptive, predictive…) on specific segments such as certain market segments, products, services, etc.
  • Working closely with commercial teams to present the recommended actions based on the outcome from the models/analytical results
  • Provide product management support to identify and define customer facing analytics use cases for the product roadmap
  • Support definition of the lifecycle process for analytics, allowing for fast, low cost development
  • Participate in the business analysis and document the specification of business information requests.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience with different aspects of analysis and advanced analytics techniques (e.g. Descriptive, predictive, optimization)
  • Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data –preferably in Hadoop/Spark
  • Proven experience in SQL & databases like Teradata/Oracle/MySQL
  • Very good experience and good knowledge of Machine Learning techniques and how they are applied to real life applications
  • Proven experience in one or more statistical tools like Python, R, SAS EM, Mat lab, SPSS. Teradata Warehouse Miner etc.
  • Professional or academic knowledge with Data Science, Applied Math’s or Statistics.
  • MS/Ph.D. or Bachelor Degree in computer science and/or engineering or equivalent with 3-5+ years of relevant experience
  • Working in international, distributed teams
  • Should have good analytical & troubleshooting skills
  • Should have good verbal and written communication skills
  • System analysis skills for IT troubleshooting
  • Conscientiousness and high accuracy in work

  • Comfortable running validation sessions/workshops with stakeholders
  • Hands on experience in working within agile development environment preferably as part of multi-locations and/or virtual teams

  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good in interdepartmental coordination
  • Self-motivated and creative problem-solving skills
  • Innovative and out of box thinking
  • Fully comfortable working in English, both in writing and spoken.
