Job Description

Untether AI is a rapidly growing Toronto startup building next-generation hardware AI accelerators for neural net inference. We are investing in software in a big way to make it as seamless as possible for researchers and developers to successfully deploy neural networks on our hardware. It involves optimizing a variety of common neural networks to run on our architectures using our software optimization tool flow. Because we’re building new systems from the ground up, you’ll get to work on new and unsolved problems using state-of-the-art technologies.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (“TPM”) to work closely with key SW Engineering stakeholders to drive and deliver software engineering programs. This role is integral to defining project milestones and scope, tracking project metrics, and measuring / analyzing progress while anticipating issues and roadblocks for product release delivery across multiple product families and customer network delivery. As part of your day to day activities you will also be establishing and evangelizing project/program management best practices around documentation, metrics, project management technologies and processes. 

Responsibilities

• Define and manage project milestones, scope, and resources.
• Define and track project metrics, measure and analyze progress.
• Anticipate and detect issues and roadblocks.
• Update stakeholders and leaders on project status and recommend necessary actions.
• Coordinate with engineering management to forecast resource loads and skills gaps.
• Help define Untether’s project management function. Establish and evangelize best practices around documentation, metrics, and processes. Drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with 3rd party teams to drive development of Customer requested Neural Networks
• Management of program / project teams to deliver Neural Network Model Garden Models including the identification, design and implementation of C++ low-level flexible programs (kernels) for various neural net operations

Requirements

• Computer Science, engineering, or related degree
• At least 5+ years of experience working in technology (AI experience desirable)
• Creative problem solver, passionate about solving hard problems
• Knowledge of Neural Networks
• Interest in problem-solving within highly structured and tightly constrained environments
• Experience managing and interacting with Off-shore 3rd party resources
• Knowledge of project management tracking tools and dashboard / KPI development methods

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Degree in computer science, engineering or related field
• Project Management Certified (PMP / ScrumMaster)
• Experience delivering high-performance software to production
• Experience with software development and product delivery
• Strong mathematical and communication skills
