As the Engineering Manager, AI in the CoCounsel Drafting group, you will be responsible for leading the development of the core applied AI/ML capabilities to power the transactional drafting product portfolio and help our customers to drive their journey to more efficient drafting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior and senior team members, and help drive the roadmap of the area. You will cultivate a vision and strategy for the team aligned with our mission and guide innovation projects from end-to-end: idea to production.

About the Role

In this opportunity as an Engineering Manager, AI, you will be responsible to:

• Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation and rapid prototyping through to production-ready deployment.

• Be both highly technical and an effective people manager, can be hands-on when needed

• Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area

• Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy

• Participate in technical design

• Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals

• Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization

• Maintain strong knowledge of the latest developments in LLM capabilities and implementation patterns

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

• 6+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web based software solution, API design, and interactions between servers and clients

• 6+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C#, Python

• 6+ years experience coding in one of the following UI frameworks: Angular, React, Typescript

• 6+ years experience working with cloud technologies: Azure, AWS or GCP (Preferably, Azure)

• 3+ years of experience developing, coaching, and managing engineers

• Are passionate about applying AI to solve real-world problems and creating interfaces that delight users.
• Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

• Experience and knowledge of foundational GenAI principles such as prompt engineering, RAG, fine tuning, etc.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $116,900 - $217,100.

This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
