Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Define the overall system architecture for the voice assistant, including integration of a language model for more natural conversation, NLP engines, dialogue management, speech recognition, and response synthesis modules.
• Select appropriate technologies and frameworks based on performance requirements and scalability needs.
• Design data flow between different system components and ensure seamless integration with existing Siri systems to maintain a consistent user experience across platforms and releases.
• Guide the development team in implementing the architectural design, providing technical expertise and decision-making on critical technical aspects.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate product requirements into technical specifications.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the voice assistant system, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
• Ensure strong protocol design principles to facilitate broad donation of capabilities from apps and services.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS, MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree with 10+ years of industry experience
• Strong understanding of language models, transformers and related technologies
• Experience with software design patterns and architectural principles
• Experience with API design principles for broad adoption
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, Swift)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in speech recognition and synthesis technologies
• Experience with iOS/macOS software frameworks

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
