About the Role

Uber Direct enables merchants to offer last-mile delivery to their customers via their app or website. We are looking for an experienced data scientist to create innovative solutions for these complex and emerging growth opportunities at Uber! We need someone to work on all the challenging yet exciting scientific projects, covering various aspects including growth, fulfillment, matching, routing, and pricing. You will collaborate closely with our Leadership Team and drive alignment across the entire organization, including Operations, Partner Management, Product, and Engineering.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:

• Use a combination of technical skills, business intuition, and analytical thinking to partner with business leaders and provide actionable recommendations.
• Proactively identify areas of the data and business that require attention, formulating analyses, insights, and recommendations based on an excellent command of the needs.
• Perform thorough data analyses.
• Design and evaluate A/B experiments.
• Build models for growth, fulfillment, matching, routing, and pricing.

Basic Qualifications

• MS/PhD in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical fields etc) or equivalent experience
• 4+ years experience with data analytics, machine learning, or related field
• Not only have strong technical abilities to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and visualize data but also excellent communication capabilities
• Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify and build high-impact science solutions to business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years experience with data analytics, machine learning, or related field
• Experience in casual inference or predicted modeling
• Experience in supporting 0->1 initiatives

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
