Technology Platform Partnerships Strategy Manager

Software, connectivity, and data are the cornerstones of this evolution, delivering the foundational elements by which Ford will drive this evolution. This role will be central to Ford’s success in enabling a truly software defined vehicle. The vehicle technology platform is one of the foundations upon which Ford transitions from a manufacturer of vehicles to a producer of vehicles for the delivery of digital experiences and brand enhancing services.
The Technology Platform Partnerships Strategy Manger - reports directly to the Director, Software Portfolio Tech Strategy & Planning. This position is the recognized single point of contact for all technology platform partnership strategies and planning work related to the current and future vehicle architectures, for all current and future programs. This work falls generally under the category of what is commonly called “Fully Networked Vehicle” or “FNV” and in the future, the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). This role is responsible for the strategy and plan development for technology platform partnerships and the impact to rest of the architecture and experiences, culminating in the technical unit papers for future iterations of the software platform.

What you'll do...
The Technology Platform Partnerships Strategy Manager will work with cross functional teams to analyze the business potential for evolving Ford’s approach to technology partnerships targeting velocity, greater efficiency, decreased complexity, and increased reuse and portability of the core platform components across all partnerships.
Partnership assessments will include but are not limited to:
Scaling and accelerating Ford’s go-to-market strategy through strategic build, buy, partner analysis.
Defining which consortia and what level of contribution and involvement are required to accelerate strategic developments.
Drive Ford’s Tech Platform for Partners strategy and partner engagements.
The positions will be required to interface with Research, Product Development, IT, Corporate Strategy, Finance and Vehicle Programs regularly to ensure all technical architecture plans are aligned, appropriate, and achievable. The role will ultimately be responsible to translate work items into strategy papers and technical unit papers with developed business cases. These papers will be recommended for approval at VP or EVP level and adjust the Technology Cycle Plan.
