About the team and the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tech Lead Manager -- Applied Research to join our dynamic Generative AI team. The ideal candidate will possess a great foundation in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs) and Machine Learning. You will be responsible for leading and growing a dedicated team of applied researchers and engineers with diverse skills to advance new capabilities and product experiences. The successful candidate will have experience in setting success metrics for ground breaking research and innovation, ensuring their continuous integration into products while fostering team growth. This role requires a solid technical foundation, hands-on experience, people leadership skills, teamwork, and communication abilities, and the drive to deliver these innovations to our customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What you will bring:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related field. A Ph.D. is preferred, and a Master's degree combined with significant research experience will be also considered.

• Solid understanding of machine learning and NLP algorithms, neural model architecture, LLMs, training techniques, and building performant inference pipelines to solve complex problems.

• Previous experience hiring, mentoring and developing elite researchers and engineers, guiding them in their development

• Tight-knit collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary team and influence outcomes.

• Analytical approach with excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.

• 3+ years of experience mentoring and leading applied researchers in teams delivering product capabilities

• Track record shipping NLP products

• Experience in ecommerce is a strong plus
