The Opportunity

In the SDC (Search, Discovery, and Content AI) Organization at Adobe, our responsibilities include enhancing Semantic Search and conversational Search and applying Generative AI to the Creativity Domain across Adobe products, with a special focus on Adobe Express, Adobe Stock, Document Cloud, Lightroom, and Photoshop. We use machine learning and AI in information retrieval, encompassing query and content understanding, as well as ranking and scoring of creative assets. Our expansion into Neural Agents combines the power of diffusion models, large language models, and Adobe’s domain expertise to bolster our AI ecosystem.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to advance our strategy and execution in applying AI/ML technologies across various areas, including deep neural search, conversational search, creative design variations, generative search, Retrieval Augment Generation, and Neural Agents.

What You'll Do

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to shape the product vision, roadmap, and business strategy.
  • Oversee all facets of ML product development and the software engineering lifecycle, including ML modeling, data/ML pipelines, and quality evaluations.
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a team with varied strengths of ML engineers and data scientists.
  • Cultivate a team culture centered on meticulous scientific methods and deep customer engagement.
  • Promote an engineering culture that values innovation and creativity while ensuring high-quality, reliable product deliveries.
  • Lead project scope and address risks through data analytics and creative problem-solving.
  • Uphold engineering excellence in architecture, execution, and delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least 8 years of industry experience in machine learning, optimization algorithms, and/or deep-learning techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team of ML and AI engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in Creative Domains will be highly useful
  • Good exposure to LLMs and Diffusion Models
  • Experience developing large scale systems

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills, and the ability to persuade, encourage, and empower others.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical internal partners and customers.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field of study.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $160,200 -- $322,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
