What You Will Be Doing

Join Lockheed Martin as a Data Scientist and play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions and enhance performance. Located in Greenville, SC, this position offers the opportunity to work with advanced statistical methods and cutting-edge technologies to uncover insights and predictive factors. As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create impactful data visualizations and develop sophisticated models that support intelligent decision-making. Key Responsibilities

  • Create, test, and implement models to transform complex data into actionable insights, supporting strategic operational initiatives at Lockheed Martin
  • Apply statistical, visualization, data mining, and machine learning techniques to uncover insights and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with product owners to translate customer requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Oversee the data science and analyst team’s front-end deliverables, evaluating data quality and supporting data governance activities
  • Leverage a variety of tools and technologies, including GPU processing, distributed computing, and cloud computing, to enhance numerical computing and visualization outcomes

This position is in Greenville, SC Discover Greenville.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with data analysis, statistics, and visualization packages
  • Experience with traditional business intelligence and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with Tableau, R, SQL, and Python
  • Experienced with the application of statistics and data mining in a business environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel including macros

Desired Skills:

  • Extensive experience creating and leading development of data visualizations (Tableau or Cognos Analytics experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP systems, applications, processes, and data constructs
  • Simulation modeling experience in Simio or similar application
  • Demonstration of strong communication skills
  • Ability to eloquently communicate findings and data visualization from a complex analysis in a clear and concise manner at levels appropriate for various audiences
  • Experience leading others in Agile environments.

Ability to Work Remotely:Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
