Job Description

The Customer Solutions Data Science Intern is responsible for working with business and operations partners to help transform data into actionable insights for customer success, renewals and support, so that we can more effectively engage our customers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand business questions and translate them into an analytical approach, bring data together to create a feature set, perform advanced analytics, identify insights and translate those insights into an easy to understand story, supported with Tableau visualizations.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include …

• Data manipulation: create data sets from disparate data that bring together the right data to answer business questions.
• Measurement development: build and validate business-relevant measures from raw data.
• Descriptive and predictive modeling: Develop custom data models and algorithms to predict outcome variables of interest. Leverage model results to provide insights.
• Value attribution: Performs analysis to help determine the actual impact of our Customer Success efforts and investments.
• Translate insights to action: communicate results of analysis and modeling to business stakeholders in a way that allows them to act.
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Assess and proactively improve own performance in such areas as job knowledge, technical skills, productivity, accountability, quality, initiative, innovation, communications.

Who you are…

• Experience with data manipulation, building data sets.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling, experience developing predictive data models; experience with machine learning preferred.
• Ability to uncover actionable insights/conclusions from data; summarize and make logical recommendations that drive informed action
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to effectively communicate model outputs business users
• Experience with a programming language (SQL, Python, R, Stata), data modeling, and common database query syntax
• Experience with one or more RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) preferred
• Proficient in Tableau preferred
• Team player who can effectively collaborate. A willingness to jump in and help when needed, learn new skills.
• Currently completing graduate level course work, anticipated to graduate between Dec. 2022 – June 2023
• Minimum 3 years professional experience working with data cleaning, data visualization and modeling
• Master’s in quantitative discipline with high impact research Statistics, Machine Learning, or Predictive Analytics preferred
