Enterprise Connectivity is a global team within Product Development organization responsible for Product Management, Software Operations, Systems Architecture, Systems Engineering & Integration. This team is also responsible for future roadmaps of all connected products for Internal Combustion, Autonomous and Electric vehicles as well as foundational products to enable compelling customer experiences across i) Retail, ii) Commercial, iii) 3rd Party Enablement and iv) Internal Value business units of Enterprise Connectivity.

What we do:

We are the Advanced Engineering team within Enterprise Connectivity responsible for ideation, Analysis, prototyping and developing a connectivity fabric for seamless delivery of connected features. We drive smart mobility business and technology innovation to aid Ford’s connectivity vision and growth strategies for the 4 business units listed above.

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Craft AI/ML pipeline, model development & model execution lifecycle.
  • Lead a team of engineers in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) domain to develop the AI/ML framework and associated applications that will support Ford’s next generation of outstanding features
  • Design and implement end-to-end machine learning pipelines accounting for the variability in data sources and collection policies, data analysis and feature extraction methodologies, modeling frameworks for cloud and edge, and serving infrastructure
  • Work with data scientists, DevOps, data engineers/SMEs from domain to understand how data availability and quality affects model performance
  • Evaluate open source and proprietary technologies and present recommendations to automate machine learning workflows, model training and versioned experimentation, digital feedback and monitoring
  • Define the ML Ops strategy as well as helping team implement the same
  • Use configuration and API management to abstract and automate most manual tasks both pre-modeling and post-deployment

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development languages (eg. Java, Python, Scala)
  • 2+ years of experience with production ML Ops implementation
  • 2+ years of experience with deployment and integration of AI/ML applications on Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
  • 2+ years of experience in infrastructure and network architecture, DevOps, or software engineering

Our preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years of academic research and/or industry experience developing AI/ML applications using R or Python and a common Deep Learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Caffe etc.)
  • Strong API-first design experience accounting for security, authentication/authorization, logging and usage patterns
  • Experience with Jenkins, CircleCI, Ansible, Chef, Terraform etc.
  • Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices
  • Experience using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, OpenShift, Service Fabric
  • Knowledgeable in the SCRUM/Agile development methodology
  • Specialist in Container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience in implementing and deploying Machine Learning solutions (using various models, such as Linear/Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, (Deep) Neural Networks, Hidden Markov Models, Conditional Random Fields, Topic Modeling, Game Theory, Mechanism Design, etc.)
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling (distributions, hypothesis testing, probability theory, etc.)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Qlikview, Hadoop, PySpark, in analytics, statistical analysis, modeling, optimization
  • Experience in effective data exploration and visualization (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
  • Experience in developing and debugging in one or more of the languages C/C++, Java, Scala, Python, or R
