What your workday will look like

  • Develop a deep understanding of Visa’s data assets and how they can be used to enhance client profitability across acquisition, usage, and retention
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and desired outcomes, leading to the definition of a detailed analytical plan
  • Execute on the analytical plan with appropriate ML and statistical techniques, creating powerful, business-centric insights from data through better visualization and storyboarding
  • Provide subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex Data Science projects
  • Contribute to increasing data literacy and developing DS activity

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or other quantitative discipline such as an MSc from an Engineering school
  • Strong statistical knowledge and experience in applying ML solutions to real-world business problems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to translate technical solutions into actionable recommendations and business impact
  • Deep understanding of DS pipelines and ML models
  • Demonstrated SQL and Python programming skills, including most common data manipulations and ML packages
  • Ability to communicate and engage various audience levels, including non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluency in English/French

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Experience/interest in Payments, Banking or consulting-like environments
  • Hands-on experience with data visualisation tool such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data systems such as Hadoop and Spark, end-to-end implementation of ML systems and/or Software Engineering best

Our FBL cluster is growing!! We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Junior Data Scientist to grow our activity in our 3 strategic markets: France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The Data Science Analyst is a key member of the client facing Data Science Lab team in the European region. In this role, you will work collaboratively with Visa Consulting Analytics, a multitude of internal functions and their senior leaders to help Visa’s clients grow their businesses. You will be accountable for developing, promoting and delivering data-driven solutions but also spreading best practices to drive business performance with a clear commercial ‘value’ and measurable ‘return’.
