Job Description

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or 4+ years of professional experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on development experience in an object-oriented programming language or similar.
  • Experience automating and operating cloud native technologies, applications deployment, and provisioning infrastructure on Azure, GCP, or AWS
  • Automation/Orchestration experience: Ansible, Decisions, Postman, ServiceNow, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloudformation, API Gateway, Terraform or ARM Templates
  • Strong coding and scripting: REST API development, Javascript (NodeJs), Python, Java, Bash, PowerShell, Perl
  • Experience with cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, Code Deploy, API Gateway or similar.
  • Experience with system deployment and decommissioning
  • Experience designing workflows
  • Understanding of network provisioning and automation
  • Understanding of enterprise storage configurations and concepts
  • Experience with load balancing and firewall technology concepts as it relates to application architecture
  • Monitoring and event management experience
  • Hands on experiences with distributed application architecture such as containers, Kubernetes, or Serverless technologies
  • Experience with Agile practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing & firewall
  • Experience with monitoring and log aggregating tools such as Splunk, DataDog
  • Experience with cloud native security implementations DevSecOps or MLOps
  • Cloud certifications for Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Core Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and deploys platforms to support and meet business needs. Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
  • Provides advanced level technical support and ensures reliable operation of production. Troubleshoots hardware or software systems on multiple platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates technologies vendor products. Recommends vendor selections and new technologies.
  • Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.
  • Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.
  • Trains and mentors more junior staff on processes and releases. Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
  • Administers system activities. Writes the technical portion of assigned deliverables. Performs systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical and physical design.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
