Job Description

The Data and AI Platform team at Rivian supports developing and deploying Generative AI systems. We operate highly scalable infrastructure for serving and orchestrating LLMs, Vector Stores, and agents. As a staff engineer, you will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems and leading the team's technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our Machine Learning engineers, full-stack engineers, and product and cross-functional teams to bring magical customer experiences through large language models.
• Lead the development and deployment of Generative AI solutions for our commercial partners and customers by gaining a deep understanding of their workflows, writing integrations, and curating data and evaluations.
• Guide our model development by identifying new capabilities and evaluations that improve the overall product and inform our research roadmap.
• Building reliable and secure systems to power our web-based applications.

Qualifications

• Experience iterating on products in an enterprise setting, working with cross-functional teams.
• Architected, designed, and developed web applications for commercial partners using the AWS serverless framework.
• Deep interest in and/or prior exposure to building with LLMs in production.
• Improving our iteration speed by identifying and fixing bottlenecks.
• Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages – Golang, Python, Rust, Java.
• Expertise in building scalable web applications.
• Good foundation on Unix and bash. Some basic knowledge of Cloud networking is preferred.
• Foundations on Containerization – Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and Release Management.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for British Columbia Based Applicants: 137,300.00 CAD - 171,600.00 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
