Job Description

This position is intended to plan and develop end-use specific solutions, related to assessment, verification, and improvements of sustainability performance during design and development of engineering products. The right candidates will have demonstrable expertise in modular software development and experience in engineering analysis and collaboration. Advanced knowledge of product engineering from design, analysis, testing, verification, and validation will be beneficial. Knowledge of sustainability assessment and/or MBSE will be advantageous. Eagerness to learn fast and contribute to original efforts in developing methodology and software solutions will be essential. This initiative covers multiple industry verticals. Collaboration internally and externally will be a critical success factor. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates, contributes and occasionally leads planning, architecture, or research at a project level
• Coordinates software design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and data research. Acts as a technical reference within a group or technology team
• Executes / follows, develops, and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring
• Performs complex bug verification, testing and beta support across multiple initiatives. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions, collaborating with the QA/support teams
• Researches and understands the customer requirements for scope, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
• Operates with limited or no supervision as project lead, or software architect
• Contribute to consulting services, internal training on new capabilities

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 years’ experience
• Significant commercial experience with e.g. software design and development methodologies
• Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with e.g. C#, numerical analysis, cloud technologies, web development, object-oriented design, software configuration management, Machine learning and related technologies, data structures and algorithms
• Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
• Ability to translate business needs into a solution framework
• Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior members
